KMP Comr. awards traffic police for outstanding performance

KHULNA, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner 
Mohammad Zahidul Hasan on Thursday awarded police officers and personnel of 
the Traffic Division in recognition of their outstanding performance and 
professional excellence.

The award-giving ceremony was held at the conference room of KMP headquarters 
at 11 am with the police commissioner attending as the chief guest.

Addressing the function, he said the Traffic Division is the most visible 
unit of Bangladesh Police and remains under direct public observation and 
evaluation.

The commissioner urged all traffic police members to discharge their duties 
with honesty, professionalism, efficiency, patience and a humanitarian 
attitude.

The absence of complaints against traffic police personnel in recent times is 
a positive achievement and an encouraging example that must be maintained in 
the future, he added.

The commissioner instructed officers and personnel to refrain from any 
discourteous behaviour towards rickshaw pullers, drivers or ordinary citizens 
and to continue serving the public with responsibility, empathy and 
dedication.

Highlighting the importance of the Traffic Division, he said the activities 
of traffic police are directly witnessed by the public, making integrity, 
commitment, efficiency and patience essential qualities for every member of 
the unit.

As recognition of commendable performance during the past month, financial 
rewards and certificates were presented to one Inspector (City and Traffic), 
five Traffic Sergeants Inspectors (TSIs), five Assistant Traffic Sub-
Inspectors (ATSIs) and 20 constables.

The police commissioner said the recognition and reward programme would 
continue in the future to inspire and motivate police personnel in carrying 
out their duties more effectively.

Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic and Protocol) Muhammad Shahnewaz 
Khaled, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam and police 
personnel of different ranks were present at the programme.
