CHATTOGRAM, August 3, 2026 (BSS) - District Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested two associates of the notorious terrorist Raihan, who is implicated in the murder of Jubo Dal leader Maksudul Haque Chowdhury Masud in Chattogram.
The individuals arrested are closely linked to the prominent terrorist Raihan and are charged in the murder case of the Jubo Dal leader. Following their interrogation, law enforcement recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine, and two rounds of ammunition.
This information was disclosed by Police Superintendent Md. Masud Alam during a press conference at the District Police Superintendent's office on Monday (August 3). He reported that on June 13, Maksudul Haque Chowdhury, the Vice President of Rangunia Upazila Jubo Dal, was fatally shot in the Pahartali area of Raojan.
Following the incident, those responsible for the murder were identified through the analysis of CCTV footage, technical data, and intelligence reports. As part of the ongoing investigation, a raid was conducted on Sunday (August 2) evening at a designated check post in the Shitalpur area of Sitakunda upazila, leading to the arrest of the suspects, Md. Didar Alam (30) and Md. Afsar Mia (30).
During initial questioning, the detained individuals revealed their participation in organized terrorist activities, extortion, and efforts to assert control over the area. Based on their disclosures, a foreign pistol, a magazine, and two rounds of 7.65 caliber bullets, which were concealed underground, were seized during a raid in the Jurerkul area of Raozan upazila on Sunday night. According to police records, Didar Alam has 10 pending cases, including murder, weapons offenses, extortion, and terrorist activities, while Afsar Mia faces six similar charges.
Besides, the investigation has uncovered evidence of their involvement in various criminal activities within Chattogram city and the surrounding district.
