GAIBANDHA, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - At least 45 illegal business establishments illegally built on the railway land at the Gaibandha Rail Station area of the town here were evicted on Wednesday afternoon.

Executive magistrate Manzur Hossain conducted the eviction drives and said that the illegal occupants living at the station had built semi-pucca and tin-shed houses on the railway land of the station and were conducting their business activity unlawfully.

Despite repeated notices from the authorities, the occupiers failed to remove their establishments from the railway land, he added.

Later, the higher authorities decided to remove the establishments through eviction; accordingly, the illegal establishments were evicted from the rail station area on Wednesday. 

District police also helped with the eviction work, he added.
