MYMENSINGH, June 10, 2026 (BSS) BNP Joint Secretary General and Administrator of Mymensingh Zilla Parishad Syed Emran Saleh Prince today said that government funds are derived from public tax money and any wastage of such resources will not be tolerated.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a review meeting on ongoing development projects of the Zilla Parishad held in Gauripur upazila of Mymensingh this afternoon.
Prince said that in the past, public funds were allegedly misused and looted in the name of development, but the present government is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in all development activities.
He stressed that public money must be used with maximum efficiency and proper oversight. "Under no circumstances will the wastage of government or public money be tolerated," he said.
The administrator further said that for the past 15 years, political corruption had been carried out in the name of politics, adding that such "fascist practices" would not be allowed to continue.
"We want to work for the people. We want to build mosques, madrasahs, schools, colleges, and rural roads, as well as create employment opportunities for young people," he added.
The meeting was attended by Habibul Islam Khan Shaheed, acting convener of the upazila BNP, along with officials of the Zilla Parishad and stakeholders of the development projects.
