GAIBANDHA, June 10, 2026 (BSS) - At least 81 illegal business establishments built on railway land at Naldanga Railway Station and its adjoining areas under Sadullapur upazila were evicted on Tuesday.
Of them, 31 establishments built on railway land near Bheramara Railway Bridge under Sadar upazila were also removed during the drive.
The eviction drives were conducted by the Lalmonirhat Division of Bangladesh Railway with the assistance of district police.
Executive Magistrate of the division Manjurul Islam said the illegally occupied Bangladesh Railway land had been conducting business activities there unlawfully.
Despite repeated notices from the authorities, the occupiers failed to remove their establishments from the railway land, he added.
Following directives from the higher railway authorities, the eviction drives were carried out in the Naldanga Railway Station area and the Bheramara Bridge area of the district.
