KHULNA, June 9, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested the prime accused in a murder case filed over the killing of a youth
by a mob in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna within 24 hours of the case being lodged.
According to a RAB press release, an operational team of RAB-6 Special Company conducted a raid at an automobile showroom at Glasgow Mor on Khan
Jahan Ali Road in Khulna city at around 5 pm today based on a tip-off and arrested the fugitive prime accused, Md Nazmul Huda, 37, of Paikgachha upazila.
The release said that Nazmul Huda, along with other accused named in the case, allegedly attacked Hasan alias King, 35, a resident of Chandkhali area
under Chandkhali Union in Paikgachha, at around 6.30 pm on June 7.
According to the case statement, the incident occurred during an altercation centering on the buying and selling of narcotics and an attempt to establish
dominance in the area.
At one stage, the accused allegedly assaulted Hasan indiscriminately with locally made weapons, sticks, shovels and iron rods, leaving him critically injured. Locals rescued the victim and took him to Paikgachha Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physician declared him dead.
Following the incident, the victim's father, Abdul Malek Sardar, filed a murder case with Paikgachha Police Station. RAB said the arrested accused was handed over to Paikgachha Police Station for further legal action.
