RANGPUR, June 9, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two absconding accused for kidnapping and gang-raping and attempted rape of two housewives of Panchagarh from Thakurgaon district today.
 
The arrestees are Md Parvez, 20, of village Amarkhana and Bishwajit Das, 21, of village Chhatra Shikarpur under Debiganj police of Panchagarh, said a RAB-13 press release tonight.

Citing the statement of the case filed by one of the victim's father Joyn Uddin, the release said that his wife and married daughter are living in the Shaldanga government housing project under Debiganj police station in Panchagarh. 

The plaintiff's brother-in-law's wife came to Joyn Uddin's house to invite his married daughter to watch a cultural programme in the nearby area on May 31, 2026.

The two victims went to the Badeshwari area of the neighboring Boda police station to enjoy the cultural programme.

On the same day, the victims, on their way back home from the cultural programme, sought the help of the two arrested accused and their absconding accomplices. 

Later, the two arrested accused, after assuring the victims of cooperation, tactfully kidnapped them and threatened them in various ways. 

First, they gang-raped the plaintiff's married daughter one after another against her will and then tried to rape the plaintiff's brother-in-law's wife when she threw sand in the eyes and face of the criminals, fled and informed the plaintiff' about the incident. 

In this incident, Joyn Uddin filed a gang-rape and kidnapping case against the arrested and absconding accused at Debiganj police station on June 2, 2026.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a special team from RAB-13's Nilphamari camp conducted a raid in Khalishakuri village under Bhulli police station in Thakurgaon district at 5:50 am today and arrested two accused.
 
The two arrested accused have been handed over to Debiganj police station for further legal action.
