Fugitive accused in disabled child rape case held in Dinajpur

RANGPUR, June 7, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the fugitive accused in an eight-year-old physically disabled child rape case from village Kutubpur under Parbatipur police station of Dinajpur district today.

The arrestee is Md Mokaram Hossain, 55, of village Chakmusa under Chirirbandar police station of Dinajpur, said a press release issued by RAB-13's Senior Assistant Director (Media) and Additional Superintendent of Police Biplab Kumar Goswami.

Citing the statement of the rape case filed by the victim's uncle Md Rabbil Alamin, 21, the release said that the victim is a physically disabled child and the accused Md Mokaram Hossain is their neighbour.

Since the victim is physically disabled, she often wanders outside the house alone.

When the victim went out of their house at 8.25 am on May 10, 2026, the accused planned to lure her with chocolate and forcibly raped her against her will inside a nearby bamboo cluster.

As a result, the victim felt severe physical pain, came home crying and informed her grandmother and uncle about the matter.

Later, the victim's uncle Md Rabbil Alamin filed a rape case against the accused at Chirirbandar police station on May 10, 2026.

Based on secret information, a team of RAB-13 from its Dinajpur Camp conducted a raid in Kutubpur village under Parbatipur police station and arrested the absconding rapist, Md Mokaram Hossain, at around 1 am today

The arrested accused has been handed over to the Chirirbandar police station for further legal action.
