CHATTOGRAM, May 27,  2026 (BSS)- Like every year, the devotees of Mirzarkhil Darbar Sharif of Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazilas of the district today celebrated the holy Eid-ul-Azha,  one day ahead of the rest of the country.

Followers of these two religious centres in Chattogram usually celebrate their Eid-ul-Azha festival in line with Saudi Arabia and other Middle-East Muslim countries.

Several hundred devotees of the two religious centres over 91 villages under Patiya, Chandanaish, Satkania, Anowara, Banshkhali, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Boalkhali and Fatikchari upazilas in Chattogram  and some other upazilas in Feni and Chandpur districts celebrated the Eid festival with due religious fervour and festivity.

A total of 108 Eid congregations were held at 91 villages including two big ones at Mirzarkhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Elahabad village in Chandanaish this morning. 

Besides, eight other eid congregations were held in different hill district including Bandarban district in the morning.

Chattogram district police sources said all  Eid Jamats were held peacefully.
