KHULNA, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) - Lawmaker for the reserved women's seats of Khulna-2 and Khulna-6 Fahmida Haque today said the ongoing and planned projects of the Khulna Development Authority (KDA) would help transform the city's future through improved housing, transport connectivity and urban infrastructure.
She said the projects, including housing schemes, commercial complexes, community centres, overpasses and wider roads, are essential for easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity as Khulna continues to expand.
"The Prime Minister has directed that all development projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe, maintaining quality, transparency and accountability, without any irregularities or corruption, so that people do not suffer unnecessarily," she said.
The MP made the remarks after reviewing KDA's ongoing and proposed development projects through a multimedia presentation at the authority's conference room this morning.
On her arrival at the KDA office, she was received by KDA Chairman Advocate S.M. Shafiqul Alam Mona.
Later, she joined a meeting with KDA board members and senior officials, chaired by the KDA chairman to discuss the implementation and progress of the projects.
Fahmida Haque said the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is committed to ensuring balanced development across the country and pledged to raise the long-standing development needs of the Khulna region in the Jatiya Sangsad.
She also assured KDA of her full support in implementing its development plans and said she would coordinate with the relevant ministries to secure the necessary assistance for projects aimed at improving the quality of life of Khulna residents.
