Three clinics sealed, hospital fined in Tangail

TANGAIL, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court here today sealed three unlicensed private clinics and fined a private hospital Taka 155,000 during a drive on unauthorized healthcare facilities in Tangail.

The drive was conducted at several private clinics and hospitals across the district town.

The operation was led by Tangail Civil Surgeon Dr. F.M. Mahbubul Alam, with Executive Magistrate Mosammat Farhana Arefin Jui from the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

During the drive, City Hospital, Tangail Clinic and Teachers Hospital and Makkah-Madinah Eye Hospital were sealed for operating without valid government approval.

Meanwhile, Khidmah Specialized Hospital was fined Taka 155,000 after authorities found irregularities and deficiencies related to its licensing and regulatory compliance.

Civil Surgeon Dr. F.M. Mahbubul Alam said that Tangail district has more than 600 private clinics and hospitals, but only 104 of them have valid government approval.
