RAJSHAHI, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three alleged drug-dealers with 79.8 kilograms of cannabis from Maherchandi Madhyapara area under Chandrima Police Station in the city last midnight.

RAB sources said the arrested persons were identified as Abdur Rahman, 64, Md. Mohsin, 30, and Abdul Alim, 36.

As part of the ongoing effort, based on secret information, an elite operational team of RAB-5, conducted a raid at the house of absconding accused Shamim, located in the Maherchandi Madhyapara area under Chandrima Police Station.

During the operation, three individuals were arrested along with 79.8 kilo-grams of cannabis, one battery-powered auto-rickshaw, and two button mobile phones.

Upon interrogation, the arrested suspects admitted that they had been colluding with each other for a long time to illegally collect cannabis through various means and were buying and selling it in the said area as well as in various other areas.
 
During preliminary interrogation about the seized illegal narcotic cannabis, they confessed that they had stored it in the house for the purpose of selling.
 
Legal proceedings against the arrested accused were lodged at Chandrima Police Station.
