NETROKONA, May 26, 2026 (BSS)- A two-year-old child drowned in a pond in Kalmakanda upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
 
Abu Talha, son of Abdul Karim, a resident of Garampara village under Rangchati union, met the tragic end as he accidentally fell into the pond near his house.

As family members could not find him for long time, they began searching for him. After a prolonged search, relatives found him floating in the pond.
 
After lifting from the pond he was taken to Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex, where attending doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalmakanda Police Station Abul Hashem confirmed the incident.
