NARAIL, May 12, 2026 (BSS) – Narail Zila Parishad on Tuesday distributed cheques worth a total of Taka 49 lakh 85 thousand 900 among 35 institutions for the implementation of various local development projects.

The cheques were formally handed over at a programme held in the Administrator’s room of the Zila Parishad in the afternoon.

The event was presided over by District Council Administrator and Sadar Upazila BNP President valiant freedom fighter Mostafizur Rahman Alek. 

Narail-1 constituency MP Biswas Jahangir Alam and Narail-2 constituency MP Ataur Rahman Bachchu were present at the event as guests of honoured.

The programme was conducted by Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad Md. Asaduzzaman. Also present were Narail Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) T.M. Rahsin Kabir, Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shammi Kaiser and Kalia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Jinnatul Islam.

Speaking at the event, MP Bishas Jahangir Alam stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in implementing development projects, stating that government-allocated funds must not be misused under any circumstances.

Administrator Mostafizur Rahman Alek said the funds should be properly utilized for the intended development activities to ensure effective local progress.
