CHATTOGRAM, May 10, 2026 (BSS): Sarwar Jamal Nizam, MP today highlighted the development of the agricultural sector through canal excavation and the creation of employment opportunities in villages.
He emphasized the importance of stamping out corruption in such projects.
He mentioned that the village-based development approach of Saheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia is being continued by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who is initiating various projects, including the canal excavation project.
These remarks were made during the inauguration ceremony of the Chatari Kanduria Canal re-excavation work and the Sangu River connection canal Ahmadiya Canal, adjacent to Pratab Babu's house re-excavation work project under the EGPP program of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
The event was organized by the Anwara Upazila administration of Chattogram to fulfil the Prime Minister's election promises.
Sarwar Jamal Nizam also mentioned the progress in village-based projects such as road development, bridge construction, and canal excavation under the BNP government.
He expressed the party's commitment to recover the damage caused during the Awami League era.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Deepak Tripura, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mohin Uddin, Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Uma Khan Kafi, and Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Junayet Chowdhury, local BNP leaders and activists were also present.
