KHULNA, May 8, 2026 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman today said there is no alternative to training for enhancing the professional skills of lawyers.

"To this end, training programmes will soon be arranged in all district bar associations across the country with the assistance of a British organisation," he said.

The minister said competent and skilled lawyers must be developed first in order to produce competent judges.

He made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest a reception and orientation programme for newly enrolled lawyers at the auditorium of Khulna District Bar Association this morning.

Addressing the young lawyers, he said ensuring an independent judiciary free from influence would help establish justice in the country.

He also said the judiciary must be transformed into an institution of dignity like a place of pilgrimage in order to further strengthen democracy, rule of law and human rights in Bangladesh.
