CHUADANGA, May 2, 2026 (BSS) - Road development work. costing a total of Taka 1.7 crore, was officially inaugurated in Darshan of the district on Saturday afternoon.
The two road projects, which will significantly improve transportation in the region, are located in the Darshan-Akandabaria and Rangiyar Pota villages.
Chuadanga-2 Member of Parliament (MP), Md. Ruhul Amin inaugurated the work and expressed his satisfaction for being able to initiate these vital infrastructure developments.
“This is the first time I am inaugurating an important road work after being elected. These roads have caused great hardship for the local residents for years, and their development will bring the much-needed relief,” said MP Ruhul Amin.
Md. Akhtar Hossain, an official from the Local Government Engineering Department, provided further details about the projects, explaining that one road will span 1,290 meters while the other will be 750 meters long. The total estimated cost for the pitch pouring work on both roads stands at Taka 1.7 crore.
The ceremony was attended by several local dignitaries, including Md. A. Quader, Assistant Secretary of District Jamaat and Md. Sahikul Alam Apu, Amir of Darshana Municipality, alongside union and ward-level leaders and activists.
During the event, speakers expressed optimism that the completion of these road works would greatly enhance the region’s communication system, benefiting both the local residents and the broader community.
