NAOGAON, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - The government has distributed free seeds and chemical fertilizers among small and marginal farmers in Sapahar upazila of the district as part of the agricultural incentive program for the Kharip-1 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The distribution program was held on Wednesday morning at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom, where local Member of Parliament Mostafizur Rahman attended as the chief guest.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Romana Riaz presided over the programme while agriculture officer Shapla Khatun delivered the welcome address. 

Among others present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Faridul Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Arifazzaman, Additional Agriculture Officer Muniruzzaman Talki, Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman, Social Service Officer Delwar Hossain, and several local political leaders and officials.

According to Agriculture Officer Shapla Khatun, a total of 2,200 farmers across the upazila are receiving support under this program. Each farmer cultivating transplanted Aman paddy has been provided with 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer. In addition, farmers have received necessary inputs for the cultivation of sesame and mung beans.
