RAJSHAHI, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - A meeting of the district law and order committee was held this afternoon at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room here in the district.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, reviewed the overall law and order situation in the district and discussed the regulation of fuel oil under current circumstances.
Key issues included taking strict action against fuel oil manipulation and illegal pond excavation, strengthening crime control and expanding mobile court operations led by executive magistrates. Emphasis was also placed on raising public awareness to combat terrorism and controlling drug-related activities.
Discussions further covered the functioning of village courts, prevention of violence against women and children and measures to curb eve teasing and rape. The committee also adopted decisions aimed at keeping the prices of essential commodities stable for public convenience.
Members of Parliament present included Shafiqul Haque Milon, Mojibur Rahman, Abu Sayeed Chand, Abdul Bari Sardar and Professor Nazrul Islam.
Among others, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Umme Kulsum Sampa and Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Nasid Farhad attended the meeting, along with representatives from various government departments and private organizations.
