MAGURA, April 4, 2026 (BSS) - Under the Kharif-1 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year, an agricultural incentive program has been inaugurated in Magura Sadar Upazila to boost crop production and support farmers.
As part of this initiative, free seeds, fertilizers, and onion storage airflow machines are being distributed to small and marginal farmers.
The inauguration ceremony was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. The program was officially launched by the Member of Parliament (MP) of Magura-1 constituency, Md. Monowar Hossain Khan, as the chief guest.
Upazila Agriculture Officer, Md. Masud Rana delivered the welcome speech, while the event was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Meher Nahar.
According to the Agriculture Office, under this program, a total of 2,000 farmers in the upazila will receive 5 kg of Ufshi Aus paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer each. Additionally, 160 farmers will receive 5 kg of mung bean seeds, 10 kg of DAP, and 5 kg of MOP per person.
Furthermore, to ensure the use of modern technology in onion preservation, 40 farmers will receive air flow machines, each with a storage capacity of 12,000 kilograms.
In his speech, the chief guest stated that such incentive programs are being implemented as part of the government's farmer-friendly policies, which will play a significant role in increasing agricultural production and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
Local public representatives, officials and staff of the agriculture department, and beneficiary farmers were present at the event.
