TANGAIL, March 30, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court fined Taka 25,000 to Elenga
Filling Station in Kalihati upazila of the district for storing 16,000 liters
of fuel oil beyond the permissible limits and failing to maintain the
necessary documentation.
The operation was carried out by Assistant Commissioner and Executive
Magistrate Md. Sajibul Islam Shuvo, who led the drive at the station on
Monday afternoon. As part of ongoing monitoring efforts, the mobile court
inspected various filling stations across the district to ensure compliance
with fuel storage regulations.
During the inspection, authorities discovered that Elenga Filling Station was
storing an excess of fuel, including approximately 10,000 liters of diesel,
over 4,000 liters of octane and around 2,000 liters of petrol.
Despite the large fuel stock, sales activities were found to be suspended at
the time. The owner of the filling station was further fined Taka 25,000 for
not maintaining an octane calibration chart, an essential document for the
proper measurement of fuel quality and quantity.
