FARIDPUR, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration in separate 
drives recovered a total of 28,000 liters of fuel from two filling stations 
that had reportedly halted sales, citing shortages in Sadar upazila.

According to administrative sources, the operation took place on Saturday 
afternoon following complaints that Hossain Filling Station, located at 
Kanaipur Bazar along the Faridpur-Khulna highway, had stopped supplying fuel 
while displaying a sign reading "No Oil".

During the raid, officials discovered significant quantities of stored fuel 
at the station, including 7,000 liters of petrol, 6,500 liters of octane and 
14,500 liters of diesel. 

A mobile court subsequently fined the station Taka 50,000 for misleading 
consumers and withholding supply.

The station manager, Sabir Chowdhury, admitted the wrongdoing and sought 
forgiveness. Authorities immediately ordered the pump to resume operations 
and ensure fuel supply to buses, trucks, agricultural users, and private 
vehicles.

On the same day, another drive was carried out at Royal Filling Station in 
the Kanaipur area. Although the pump was only selling diesel at the time, 
officials found 3,500 liters of petrol, 3,400 liters of octane, and 19,000 
liters of diesel in storage. 

The station's owner and manager attributed the suspension of petrol and 
octane sales to mechanical issues and apologized. Authorities directed them 
to restore full fuel services promptly.

The drives were led by Faridpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive 
Magistrate Meshkatul Jannat Rabeya, along with Assistant Commissioner (Land) 
and Executive Magistrate Md. Shafiqul Islam and other officials.

Officials said that similar enforcement operations will continue at all 
petrol pumps throughout the district to prevent irregularities and ensure 
uninterrupted fuel supply to consumers.
