KHULNA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Coast Guard and Navy conducted
a joint drive against illegal stockpiling of fuel oil in Mongla upazila in
Bagerhat district.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed
the information on Sunday noon.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising the Coast Guard, Bangladesh
Navy, Police, NSI, and the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat
conducted a drive around 1.00 am on Sunday at Jamuna Petroleum Limited
located in the Mongla Oil Installation area, he said.
During the drive, officials physically measured the depot of fuel stored in
three storage tanks of the organisations and cross-checked relevant
documents.
The inspection revealed approximately 12,613 liters of additional fuel oil,
worth around Taka 12.11 lakh, had been illegally stockpiled.
Legal proceedings regarding the seized fuel are currently underway under the
supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat.
Such operations will continue in the future to maintain stability in the
domestic fuel market, the Coast Guard Media Officer added.
