KHULNA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - Voting in Khulna District Bar Association elections concluded today amid a festive atmosphere. 

Voting began at 8:00am and continued till 3:30pm. Although voter presence was initially low in the morning, turnout increased steadily as the day progressed. 

A total of four panels, including those backed by BNP and Jamaat, are competing in the election.

A visit to the court premises around 11:30am showed bamboo barricades placed on both sides of the main road to restrict movement of vehicles except those of lawyers. Temporary tents were erected along the roads for representatives of the four panels and their supporters, and the entire court area was adorned with festoons and posters.

To encourage fellow lawyer-voters, senior leaders from the city units of BNP and Jamaat were seen gathering at makeshift tents near the polling centre from the morning till noon. 

Leaders of Khulna city BNP, including its president Shafiqul Alam Mona and general secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, were also present, boosting the morale of candidates.

Election results are expected by evening.
