LAKSHMIPUR, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 9,800 members of law enforcement agencies have been deployed across the district to ensure a peaceful and fair 13th national parliamentary election.
According to district police sources, a total of 9,800 personnel, including members of the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Ansar, and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), have been assigned to maintain law and order during the election. In addition, 28 executive magistrates and members of the Bangladesh Army are supervising the overall security arrangements.
Preparations have been completed at 496 polling stations across four parliamentary constituencies in the district.
Superintendent of Police Md. Abu Tarek briefed the deployed law enforcement personnel at the Lakshmipur Police Lines ground this morning.
He stated that nearly half of the polling stations have been identified as vulnerable, and security measures have been strengthened accordingly. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure that voters can cast their ballots safely and without obstruction.
The police chief also emphasized the need for strict vigilance to prevent any form of mob violence or disorder at polling centers. Authorities expressed hope that voting would be conducted in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
A total of 29 candidates are contesting in the four constituencies of Lakshmipur. The district has 1,637,956 registered voters.
