RANGPUR, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - The Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police has 
arrested an alleged notorious terrorist Anach in 11 cases including arms and 
extortion.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Md Tofail 
Ahmed confirmed the matter on Tuesday night.

He was arrested in a drive to control the law and order situation in the 
morning today from the Babupara Rail Station area of Rangpur city.

The arrested person is the son of Abdus Samad of the city's same area.

There are 11 cases including arms and extortion in his name at the Rangpur 
Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station.

Tofail Ahmed further said that the law and order situation in the city is 
currently normal.

"To maintain the law and order situation, special operations including check 
post searches, anti-drug operations and other activities are underway in 
various places in the city," he said.

In addition, day and night mobile patrols and foot patrols are active to 
prevent theft, robbery and snatching across the city.
