KISHOREGANJ, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - A man was arrested with a foreign-made pistol, a magazine and 19 locally manufactured weapons during a joint forces operation in Abdullahpur Bazar area under Ashtagram upazila of the district early Saturday.

The arrested individual was identified as Khurshed Khan, 37, a resident of Uttar Abdullahpur village of the upazila, according to an army press release issued this afternoon.

The press release said the operation was carried out based on intelligence information. The army stated that such operations will continue as part of its commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order. 

It also urged citizens to report any criminal activities to the nearest army camp or law enforcement agencies.

Ashtagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Soheb Khan confirmed the arrest, saying that legal procedures are underway and the accused will be produced before the court after completion of the necessary formalities.
