Police constable killed in Magura road accident

MAGURA, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - A police constable was killed in a road accident in the district town on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Badsha, 26, police constable No. 670, who was serving at Babukhali Police Camp under Magura Sadar upazila. He was the son of Omar Ali, a resident of Ailiya village under Tala Police Station in Satkhira district.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the accident occurred around 12:45 pm on the south side of Par Nanduali Bridge in the town. Constable Badsha was returning to his workplace on a motorcycle after collecting ration and medicines from Magura police lines when the motorcycle collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Locals immediately rescued him and took him to Magura Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Magura Sadar Police Station Md. Ashikur Rahman confirmed the matter and said the truck involved in the accident fled the scene immediately after the collision. "The process of taking necessary legal action in connection with the incident is underway," he added.
