FENI, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS)- Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal here today sentenced three persons to death for murder of 10-year-old boy Ahnaf Al Main alias Nashit and hiding his body.
Judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal A.N.M. Morshed Khan gave the verdict convicting Ashraf Hossain Chowdhury Tushar, Mobarak Hossain alias Wasi and Omar Faruq Rifat.
Public Prosecutor Advocate Shahab Uddin Ahmed said Nashit, a Class-IV student and son of Main Uddin Sohag from Joypur village under Fulghazi Upazila was kidnapped on December 8, 2024 from Baitul Khair Jame Mosque area in Feni town.
Each of the convicts was fined Taka 100,000 in default to suffer another one year rigorous imprisonment (RI). For hiding the body the convicts were fined Taka 20,000 and in default to suffer three months RI.
For kidnapping, two of the accused were given life term imprisonment with fine of Taka 20,000, in default to suffer more three months of RI.
The kidnappers took Nashit to Dewanganj, where they administered him with drug by mixing in juice. They took his photos and sent those to his father, demanding ransom of Taka 12 lakh.
The kidnappers later strangulated Nashit to death and disposed of his body in a pond in Dewangonj.
On the next day Nashit’s father filed a general diary with Feni Model Police Station.
On suspicion police took Tushar in their custody and based on his information, police arrested three accused and recovered body of Nishat from the pond in Dewanganj.
After investigation, police submitted a charge sheet against the three accused. The court after examining the evidence and testimonies found all three accused are guilty and handed down death sentences along with additional punishments for different type of offenses.
Public Prosecutor of Feni Mejbah Uddin Khan and the victim’s father expressed satisfaction with the verdict and demanded its swift execution.
