DINAJPUR, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held in the district seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of BNP chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Friday evening.

The programme, featuring Quran recitation and special prayers, was organized by the district and municipal units of Zia Manch, in collaboration with the district BNP and town BNP. 

The mahfil took place after Maghrib prayers at Mirza Market premises on Balubari Bishwa Road of the district town.

Maulana Mohammad Raihan Kabir conducted the prayer. The event was presided over by Zia Manch Dinajpur district branch convener Md. Nowshad Alam Pappur.

BNP nominated candidate for the Dinajpur-3 (Sadar) constituency Syed Jahangir Alam attended the programme as the chief.

Dinajpur Municipal BNP president Md. Ziaur Rahman Zia, Krishak Dal district branch senior joint convener Md. Rafiqul Islam Pavel, Municipal BNP vice president Md. Badal Dewan, former councillor Md. Motibur Rahman Biplob, Zia Manch district branch member secretary Md. Shahriar Zaman Shah, ward BNP president Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, joint general secretary Md. Raju Ahmed, district Sramik Dal associate general secretary Md. Enamul Haque, Zia Manch district committee joint convener Md. Helal Uddin, and Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front leader Sweet Chatterjee among others, were present.
