RAJSHAHI, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS)- Seven adamma women were awarded here today as
recognition of their extraordinary role in the fields of success after
overcoming long-lasting struggle and pain.
The awards were given to the successful women in five respective categories
like economics, education and employment, successful mother, prevention of
repression and social development sectors.
The successful women are: Hasina Yeasmin, Nur Jahan Begum, Sarmin Begum,
Sumona Sarker, Rasheda Begum, Razia Khatun and Arifa Jrshmin.
The Department of Women Affairs organised the award-giving ceremony titled
"Adamma Nari" at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) to mark the
Begum Rokeya Day 2025.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid and Deputy Inspector
General (DIG) of Police Dr Muhammad Shahjahan addressed the ceremony as the
chief and special guests respectively while DC Afia Akhter was in the chair.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Naimul Hassan, Civil Surgeon Dr Raziul Karim
and Deputy Director of Department of Women Affairs Shabnom Shirin also spoke
on the occasion.
Chief Guest Dr Bazlur Rashid said the present government has been working
relentlessly for the development and empowerment of women.
He urged the local administrations to adopt need-based steps to free the
society from child marriage.
The 'Adommya Nari' award will encourage women to overcome different odds and
hurdles in society.
