CUMILLA, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - Continuous religious programmes have been taking place in Cumilla for the past ten days, seeking the quick recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. 

At the initiative of BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Amin Ur Rashid Yasin, Quran recitation, food distribution in orphanages, animal sacrifice (sadaqah), and special prayers are being organized every day.

Quran recitation was held this morning at the party office in Kandirpar, Cumilla city. Later in the afternoon, a doa mahfil was held at the same venue, attended by a large number of BNP leaders and activists from different affiliated organizations.

President of Sadar South Upazila BNP SA Bari Selim, former joint conveners of Cumilla Metropolitan BNP Shahidullah Ratan, Ataur Rahman Chuti, and Mahabubur Rahman Dulal also attended the doa mahfil, among others.

Organizers said such religious programmes will continue until Begum Zia’s full recovery.
