NARSINGDI, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - A Qur'an recitation and special prayer was held in Narsingdi today seeking the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme took place at the premises of the Shibpur Upazila BNP office this afternoon, organized under the initiative of Narsingdi District BNP General Secretary Manjur Elahi.

A total of 120 huffaz from different madrasas in Shibpur Upazila participated in the event, completing a full recitation of the Holy Qur'an and offering prayers for Begum Zia's health and long life.

Narsingdi District BNP General Secretary Manjur Elahi, District BNP Vice-President and Shibpur Upazila BNP General Secretary Freedom Fighter Abu Salek Rikabdar, District BNP Organizing Secretary VP Tofazzal Hossain, Assistant Secretary for Religious Affairs Mahbub Khan, District Swechhasebak Dal Senior Vice-President Shahadat Hossain Mamun, Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Apel Mahmud Sumon, Upazila Swechhasebak Dal Convener Mashum Molla, Upazila JASAS Convener Ariful Islam and Member Secretary Mahbub Khan, along with leaders of various associate bodies, attended the event.

Organizers said similar prayer programmes and Qur'an recitations are being held regularly at local and party levels for the recovery of Khaleda Zia.
