During the visit, BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, who is also the central coordinator of the Health Support Cell, spoke virtually with the child’s family.  He inquired about the overall situation and assured the family of continued support. Financial assistance was handed over to the family on behalf of the BNP Acting Chairman and the delegation pledged to provide all necessary legal and healthcare assistance in the days ahead. Earlier, on the night of October 4, a three-and-a-half-year-old child sustained serious injuries in an 'attempted rape incident' allegedly carried out by Miraj, son of Bachchu Mia of the same area.  The victim was later rescued and admitted to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital for urgent treatment.
