DHAKA, July 8, 2026 (BSS) - The Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh today
(Wednesday) donated 1,000 footballs to the Bangladesh Football Federation
(BFF) to support grassroots football development in the country.
The footballs were handed over at a ceremony held at the artificial turf
ground adjacent to the BFF Bhaban in the capital.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh H.E Imran Haider formally handed
over the footballs to BFF President Tabith Awal.
Prior to the ceremony, the High Commissioner witnessed an exhibition match
between two squads of the Bangladesh Under-17 Women's National Football Team.
The 1,000 footballs, presented as a gift by the Pakistan High Commission,
will be distributed across different regions of the country to promote
grassroots football development.
Speaking on the occasion, both sides expressed optimism about strengthening
sports cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
They said football could play an important role in fostering friendship,
harmony and stronger people-to-people ties between the two countries and
expressed hope that such initiatives would contribute positively to the
development of grassroots football in Bangladesh.
BFF President thanked the Pakistan High Commission for the generous
initiative, saying the support of international partners plays an important
role in the development and promotion of football in Bangladesh.
He also expressed hope that such cooperation would continue in the future.
