LE MANS, France, June 12, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Le Mans on Friday confirmed the extension of coach Patrick Videira's contract after he led the French club back to Ligue 1.
Le Mans last played in the French top flight in the 2009/10 season and were relegated to the sixth tier in 2013 for financial reasons.
The club from northwestern France did not specify the length of the extension, but a source said that the new deal runs until 2029.
Videira arrived in 2024 from fourth-division Corsican club AS Furiani-Agliani. He has a record of 43 wins, 21 draws, and 14 losses in 78 matches.
"This extension reflects the club's desire to build on stability and continuity, central to the project championed by the new ownership for the long-term development of Le Mans FC," the club said in a statement.
Le Mans are owned by Brazilian investment fund OutField, with Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, tennis star Novak Djokovic and ex-Formula One driver Felipe Massa amongst the minority shareholders.
