DHAKA, May 3, 2026 (BSS) - The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Dhaka today for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
The series is the part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle.
Captain Shan Masood will lead the 16-member squad. All members of the touring party have reached the Bangladesh capital except star batter Babar Azam, who is set to join the squad after featuring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final later on Sunday.
Pakistan will face Bangladesh, led by Nazmul Hossain Shanto, in the opening Test beginning May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The second Test is scheduled to be held from May 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The visitors have included several uncapped players in the squad as part of a strategy to test emerging talent in the longer format.
Among those yet to make their Test debut are Abdullah Fazal, Azan Awais, Emad Butt and wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori.
In addition to changes in the playing squad, Pakistan has also restructured its support staff, with former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed taking the charge of the Test team as coach.
