DHAKA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed claimed 4-47 in an impressive bowling performance as visiting New Zealand A were reduced to 226-8 at rain-truncated Day 1 of the first four-day game at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Another pacer Anamul Haque gave him the ably support by taking 3-31 while Ebadot Hossain grabbed 1-44.
Asked to bat first after a rain-delayed start, New Zealand A faced the wrath of Bangladesh's pace attack to be limped to 101-6 with the three pacers taking all six wickets.
Resistance came from the willow of Mitchell Hay and Dean Foxcroft who rescued the side from the troublesome situation by adding 98 runs for the seventh wicket.
Khaled, however, broke the partnership by scattering the wicket of Foxcroft who made 47. Soon after he also took the wicket of Adithya Ashoke but Hay helped the side survive the remaining part of the day by being not out on 68.
Kristian Clarke was on 12 along with Mitchell Hay at stumps.
