DHAKA, Dec 20, 2023 (BSS)-Both the men's and women's sections finals of the Victory Day Handball competition (men's and women's) will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city.

On the day, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) take on Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party in the men's section final at 2.30 pm following the day's another women's section final match between Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party and THT Lion, Jamalpur that begins at 12.30 pm.

Dhaka Metropolis Police commissioner Habibur Rahman is expected to present in the closing ceremony of the competition and distribute the prizes.

Valiant freedom fighter Shafiqul Bahar Mujumder Tipu and also former acting secretary general of central command council of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Council will present there as the special guest.

Meanwhile, in the day's men's section matches held at the same venue, Bangladesh Police Handball Club beat Team Handball, Dhaka by 36-24 goals after leading the first half by 17-13 goals while BGB defeated Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party by 30-26 goals after dominating the first half by 16-8 goals.

While in the women's section matches, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party outplayed Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 35-19 goals after leading the first half by 19-13 goals while Bodolgachi Handball Association overpowered Handball Training Center, Dhaka by 31-24 goals after dominating the first half by 13-11 goals.
