DHAKA, Dec 20, 2023 (BSS) - Star-studded Bashundhara Kings will take on Fortis Football Club in one of the opening day's matches as the Federation Cup will begin from Tuesday (Dec 26) at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj.
 
Bangladesh Football Federation released the fixture of the Federation Cup on Wednesday with old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will meet Bangladesh Police Football Club in the day's another opening day's match to be held at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
 
After the two matches, the tournament will be halted for twenty days. The competition will resume on January 16 next with Abahani Limited, Dhaka will take on Brothers Union Club in one of the group B matches at Bashundhara Kings Arena while Mohammedan Sporting Club will meet Chittaging Abahani Limited at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on the same day.
 
Ten clubs of Bangladesh Premier League will take part in the Federation Cup which will be played at three separate venues -- Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj, Birshreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj and Bashundhara Kings arena in Dhaka -- across the country .
 
The two traditional arch-rivals, who will be favorites to move through to the quarter-finals, got port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited and Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club in the Group B.
 
Bangladesh Police Football Club and Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were placed in Group A alongside old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society.
 
Bashundhara Kings, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Fortis Football Club Limited are grouped in group C.
