4th day's results of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games

DHAKA, Jan 5, 2023 (BSS) - The Inter-upazila matches and inauguration ceremonies of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games continued on 4th day held at different districts across the country on Thursday.

In Gaibandha district, Gaibandha's deputy commissioner Oliur Rahman inaugurated the Games as the chief guest. Additional Superintendent of Police of Gaibandha district Ibne Mizan was the special guest at the inauguration ceremony.

In Rangpur district, Rangpur's Divisional Commissioner Md. Sabirul Islam inaugurated the games in Rangpur. Rangpur's Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen presided over the inauguration ceremony.

In Brahmanbaria district, Kabaddi and Badminton have started in Brahmanbaria district. Brahmanbaria's additional district magistrate Helena Parveen inaugurated this game held at Loknath Dighi field.

Assistant commissioner Nusrat Jabin and district sports association's joint general secretary Md. Mostaq Ahmed huiyan were present as the special guests in the opening ceremony, presided by District Sports Association's' vice president Md. Abul Kasem.

In Pabna district, Pabna district's deputy commissioner Biswas Russell Hossain inaugurated the Games at Shahid Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium in Pabna. Pabna's Police Superintendent Akbar Ali Munsi was present at the opening ceremony. Pabna district's Awami League's president Rezaul Rahim Lal, Sadar Upazila Parishad''s chairman Mosharof Hossain, Pabna Municipality's Mayor Md. Sharif Uddin Pradhan, District Sports Association's general secretary Shahidul Islam Manik were also present. A total of 250 players are participating in chess, karate, badminton, swimming, athletic, football, volleyball events in the games.
 
In Patuakhali district, additional deputy commissioner Md Humayun Kabir inaugurated the Games at Abul Kashem Stadium in Patuakhali. additional superintendent of police (sadar circle) Sajedul Islam Sajal, District Awami League's general secretary heroic freedom fighter VP Abdul Mannan, representative of Olympic Association Moazzem Hossain Sentu, were among others, also present there, presided by District Sports Association's general secretary ANM Aminul Islam Mamun.

 


In Bhola district, Deputy Commissioner Md Taufiq-e-Lahi Chowdhury inaugurated the games at District Police Lines ground in Bhola.
while Sunamganj's District Sports Association's president and Deputy Commissioner Didare Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury inaugurated the games in Sunamganj district.


Deputy Director of Local Government Department Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Abu Saeed, Former general secretary of District Sports Association Md. Nazir Ahmad Chowdhury, District Sports Association's vice president Sirajur Rahman Siraj, District Sports Association's general secretary Dewan Imdad Reza, Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games local committee convener Md. Parvez Ahmed Chowdhury, Sadar Upazila Parishad's vice chairman Md. Abul Hossain and member of district sports association Dilara Begum were also present in the opening ceremony.

In Barguna district, six boys and girls chess players, split into two groups, are participating in chess event from six upazilas.

In Chandpur district, the Kabadd's final was held in Chandpur district.

Chandpur Sadar Upazila emerged champions defeating Haimchar Upazila by 30-29 points. In football, Hajiganj Upazila emerged champions beating Matlab Uttar Upazila by 3-0 goals.

Earlier in U-17 girls' chess event held on on Wednesday last, Rafia Islam emerged champion while Mehjabin Patwari finished runners-up. In the boys chess event, Safayat Kibria Azaan emerged champion while Prashanta Saha finished runners-up.
 
In Noakhali district, six upazilas participated in the badminton event at Shaheed Bhulu Stadium. Chatkhil emerged as champion in the boys' singles event while Senbagh finished runner-up. Sadar Upazila became champions in boys' doubles event while Subarnachar finished runners-up. Sadar Upazila became the champion in the girls' single event while Chatkhil finished runner-up. In the mixed event, Sadar Upazila emerged champions and Chatkhil finished runner-up.

In Magura district, Sripur Upazila girls' football team thrashed Shalikha Upazila girls' team by14-0 goals.

 

Besides, the Sadar Upazila team defeated the Shalikha Upazila girls' team in the table tennis competition held at the local Sheikh Kamal Indoor Stadium. In badminton, Sadar Upazila boys' and girls' teams defeated Shalikha Upazila team in singles and doubles event.

Mohammadpur boys' football t beat Shalikha boys' football team by 5-4 in tiebreaker. In Kurigram district, Fahad Al Farabi (Rajarhat) became the champion in chess boys' category,
Noor Ahmed (Sadar) emerged top in 50m freestyle swimming (boys'), Atiqul Haque (Sadar) emerged first in backstroke while Al Noman (Rajarhat)finished second position. Ashiqur Rahman (Sadar) emerged champion in 50m butterfly event.

Zulkarnain (Rajarhat) and Arani (Sadar) became champions in karate boys' group. In wrestling, Zahedul Haque (Sadar) in the boys' group and Maya Akhter (Sadar) of girls' group emerged champions. In Lakshmipur district, Kamalnagar Upazila Sports Association and Sadar Upazila became champions in boys and girls group respectively in football event. Kamalnagar and Sadar Upazila emerged champions in kabaddi event.

In Lalmonirhat district, 80 players participated in cycling event and 15 teams participated in badminton singles, doubles, mixed doubles. Muslima Akhtar Mishu of Sadar Upazila and Aditmari Upazila player's Sowad Al Hasan emerged champions in the girls' and boys' group respectively.

 Aditmari upazila's Swaad Al Hasan and Abdullah Al Mofachher clinched boys' doubles title.

Kaniz Israt Tari and Faiza Amin Saba of Sadar Upazila became champions in girls' doubles. Sowad Al Hasan and Anupama Roy of Aditmari upazila became champions in mixed doubles. Deepak Roy of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in cycling event.

In Gopalganj district, Sadar Upazila emerged champions in the boys' kabaddi event beating Tungipara Upazila by 23-19 points in the final while, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila emerged champions in girls' kabaddi event defeating Kashiani Upazila by 30-12 points in the final.

In swimming event, Mohabbir Haladar of Kotalipara upazila emerged first in boys' 50m free style event with a time of 31 seconds. Ijaz Ahmed of Kotalipara upazila became the first in 50m back stroke with a time of 41 seconds. Ijaz Ahmed of Kotalipara upazila became the first in 50m butterfly with a time of 35 seconds.

 

 Nahid Sheikh of Muksudpur upazila became the first in 100m freestyle with a time of 1 minute and 33 seconds. Kalam Molya of Muksudpur Upazila became the first in 100m back stroke clocking 1 minute and 50 seconds.

Bithi Khanam of Muksudpur Upazila emerged first in the women's 50m freestyle with a time of 1 minute and 4 seconds. She also emerged as the first in 50m breaststroke clocking 1 minute and 17 seconds. Hasi Akter of Tungipara upazila became the first in 50m butterfly with a time of 1 minute and 07 seconds. Tanya Khanam of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila became the first in 100m freestyle with a time of 1 minute 56 seconds.

Maryam Sultana Khanam of Tungipara upazila became the first in 100 meters back stroke with a time of 1 minute 30 seconds while Tanya Khanam of Tungipara upazila became the first in 100m breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes 220 seconds.

In Chattogram district, table tennis event was inaugurated in with Chattogram city corporation's former mayor AJM. Nasir inaugurated the event as the chief guest.

In the boys' event, Mostakimul Islam Sayem of Fatikchhari defeated Rafsan Rafat of Karnaphuli upazila and became the champion. The pair of Mostakiumal Islam Sayem and Arif Amin of Fatikchari Upazila emerged champions in the doubles event while Rafsan Rafat and Burhan Uddin pair of Karnaphuli upazila finished runners up.

In Bhola district, Sadar Upazila emerged champion in boys' Kabaddi event while Lalmohan Upazila finished runner-up. Sadar Upazila emerged champions in girls kabaddi event while Borhanuddin Upazila finished runners-up.

In Joypurhat district, Joypurhat sadar upazila girls' team emerged champions in kabaddi beating panchbbib upazila girls' team by 44-26 points in the final.

In Narail district, Rudra Debnath and Soumik Mandal of Sadar Upazila emerged champions in the boys doubles table tennis event while Rafid Mahmud Piyas and Utsha Debnath of Lohagara finished runners up.
 
While Esha and Anika Bose of Sadar Upazila emerged champions in table tennis girls' doubles event while Mimma Sharif and Shreyasi Das of Lohagarha finished runners-up.

 


Rudra Debnath of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in the boys' singles table tennis event while Soumik Mandal of Lohagarha finished runner-up.

On the other hand, Lakshi Dutta of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in the girls singles table tennis event while Esha of Lohagarha finished runner-up.

Ishtiar Ahmed Dipuu of Lohagarha emerged champions in athletics boys' 100m event while Jisan Ahmed of Sadar Upazila finished runners up. Ishtiyar Ahmed Dipu of Lohagarha emerged champion in boys 200m race event while Chhotan Karmakar of Sadar Upazila finished runner-up.

Ishtiyar Ahmed Dipu of Lohagarha emerged champions in the boys' 400m race event while Arman of Sadar Upazila finished runners-up. Siam Hossain of Lohagarha emerged champion in the boys' 800m race while and Arup Biswas of Kalia Upazila finished runner-up.

Siam Hossain of Lohagarha emerged champion in the boys' 1500m while Tushar Sheikh of Sadar Upazila finished runner-up.

Nashir of Lohagarh was the champion in the boys' long jump event while and Arup Biswas of Kalia Upazila finished runner-up.

In Iron Shot put event, Rahul of Sadar Upazila emerged boys' event champion while Shahidul Islam of Lohagarha Upazila finished runner-up.
Nandita Karmakar of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in the girls' 100m race while Samia Khanam of Lohagarha Upazila finished runner-up. Nandita Karmakar of Sadar upazila emerged champion in the girls' 200m race while Samia Khanam of Lohagarha upazila finished runner-up.

Shaila Khanam of Sadar Upazila emerged champions in the girls' 400m race while Ishita of Kalia Upazila finished runner-up. Shayla Khanam of Sadar Upazila emerged champion in the int he girls' 800m race while Nishita Karmakar of Lohagarha Upazila finished runner-up. Shayla Khanam of Lohagara Upazila emerged champion in the girls' 1500m race while Nupur of Sadar Upazila finished runner-up.

In long jump event, Samia Khanam of Lohagarha Upazila emerged champion while Nandita Karmakar of Sadar Upazila finished runner-up. In the high jump, Samia Khanam of Lohagarh upazila became the champion while Sadhana of Sadar upazila finished runner-up.

Nishita of Sadar Upazila emerged champion discus throw event while Sadhana of Lohagarha Upazila finished runner-up.
 
District Sports Association's general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku, Abdur Rashid Mannu, Shariful Islam Shanto, were among others present at the prize distribution ceremony after the competition.
