JHENAIDAH, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - Political Assistant to Prime Minister Rashed Khan today said the BNP government is working to build a united nation by bringing together all anti-fascist forces.

"The nation is united today under the guidance of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Nevertheless, conspiracies against the government have not stopped," he told an inaugural ceremony of the government's three-month-long dengue prevention campaign this morning joining virtually from the Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner's office.

Rashed said the government has undertaken various plans to improve public healthcare and the overall standard of living, describing the BNP as a government of the people and one committed to establishing democracy.

Later, in an awareness rally and cleanliness drive organised by the Jhenaidah district administration as part of efforts to prevent dengue and to unite the country.

Rashed said the Awami League has announced its intention to return to politics.

"They will not be able to return to the politics of this country after standing on the blood of students and the general people. The people of the country will no longer accept Awami League politics," he said.

He also called upon leaders and activists of all anti-fascist political parties to stand by the government.

The Prime Minister's political assistant said the BNP had led the anti-autocracy movement in the 1990s as well as the 2024 student-people's mass uprising, in which the BNP and its affiliated organisations made sacrifices.

"Therefore, the BNP wants to keep all sides of the anti-fascist movement united," he said.

He described the plans put forward by Tarique Rahman to build a happy and prosperous nation and country as commendable, urging everyone to work together to implement the Prime Minister's plans.

Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner Md Noman Hossain, Police Super Mia Md Ashish Bin Hasan, District Council Administrator and BNP President MA Majid, Vice Presidents Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu and Anwarul Islam Badsha, Joint Secretary Abdul Majid Biswas, Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Iqbal Makhan and leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organisations were present.
