DHAKA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the attachment of 13.49 acres of land and an SUV, and the freezing of 14 bank accounts and one BO account belonging to former Pabna-5 constituency MP Golam Faruk Khandaker Prince in connection with graft allegations.

Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The petition said that the ACC filed the case against Golam Faruk Khandaker Prince for abusing his power while serving as a lawmaker and public servant and acquiring Taka 9.91 crore in assets beyond his known sources of income.

It also alleged that he carried out unusually large and suspicious transactions totalling Taka 425.34 crore through 39 bank accounts in his name. The transactions were made to conceal or disguise the illegal source of money or property obtained through corruption and bribery, involving offences related to money laundering.

An investigation officer has been appointed to investigate the case and submit a report.

"During the investigation, a review of the records revealed that the accused was attempting to transfer and dispose of his movable and immovable assets held in his name or linked to his interests. There is a risk of substantial loss if the properties were transferred or otherwise disposed of before the case was concluded," the plea added.
