DHAKA, July 20, 2026 (BSS) - Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force
(BAF) Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today inaugurated the newly-
constructed building of the Bangladesh Centre for Air and Space Power Studies
(BCASPS) at BAF Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment.
The Air Chief unveiled the commemorative plaque of the BCASPS building and
planted a tree on its premises, according to an Inter Services Public
Relations (ISPR) press release issued here this evening.
On the occasion, he also joined a special prayer and munajat.
Following the inauguration, the Air Chief visited various administrative and
operational sections of the facility and reviewed its activities.
The BCASPS officially launched its operations and website on January 18,
2026. Since then, the institution has been contributing to research and
knowledge generation on air and space power, national security, the strategic
environment and defence policy under the overall guidance of the Chief of Air
Staff, the release said.
Addressing the ceremony, Hasan Mahmood Khan expressed hope that the dedicated
BCASPS building would further enhance the organisation's capacity in
research, education and policy-support activities.
The ISPR release said BCASPS has recently been registered with the Registrar
of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) under the Societies Registration
Act, 1860.
Among others, Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters, the Air Officer
Commanding of the Air Defence Operations Centre, Air Officers Commanding of
BAF Base Bir Uttam A.K Khandker and BAF Base Bashar, the Commandant of
Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), members of the BCASPS Governing Body
and senior BAF officers attended the ceremony.
