DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,383 cases against traffic law violators during the last 24 hours in the capital.

According to DMP media and public relations division press release issued here today, a total of 586 vehicles were dumped and 250 vehicles were towed during the drives.  

It said the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 104 cases against eight buses, four covered vans, nine CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 30 motorcycles. 

The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 216 cases, including against 17 buses, 16 trucks, two covered van, 26 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 99 motorcycles, while the Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 308 cases, including against 21 buses, three trucks, 14 covered vans, 64 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 143 motorcycles.

The release said the Traffic-Wari Division filed 353 cases, including against 42 buses, 43 trucks, 43 covered vans, 32 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 103 motorcycles and the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 219 cases, including against 17 buses, four trucks, eight covered vans, 47 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 88 motorcycles.

Apart from this, it said Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 330 cases against 20 buses, 22 trucks, 28 covered vans, 31 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 154 motorcycles and the Traffic-Uttara Division filed 476 cases, including against 57 buses, 13 trucks, 27 covered vans, 82 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 162 motorcycles.

The DMP said the Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 377 cases against 50 buses, three trucks, 17 covered vans, 44 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 113 motorcycles.

It said that the DMP’s traffic enforcement drives would continue across the capital to ensure discipline on roads.
