DHAKA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Land Minister Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Minu 
today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Dilara Hafiz, wife of 
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

In a condolence message, he said Dilara Hafiz was a dedicated educationist 
whose contributions to the development of the country's education sector will 
be remembered forever. 

"With her death, the nation has lost a worthy guardian," the minister added.
 
In the condolence message, Mizanur Rahman Minu prayed for eternal peace of 
her departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family. 

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant her [Dilara Hafiz] Jannatul Ferdous 
and give strength to her family to bear the loss.

Dilara Hafiz breathed her last at 11:29am [Bangladesh time] today at the age 
of 78 while undergoing treatment in Singapore General Hospital.
