Banglabandha land port to remain closed for 11 days for Eid

PANCHAGARH, Mar 17, 2026 (BSS) - Import and export activities through Banglabandha Land Port will remain suspended for 11 days from March 17 to March 27 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Manager of Banglabandha Land Port Limited Abul Kalam Azad confirmed this.

According to the port authorities, all types of trade operations with India, Nepal and Bhutan will remain closed during this period. 

The decision was conveyed through a letter signed by the general secretary of the Banglabandha C&F Agents Association following a meeting held on March 10.

As per the decision of the association, all import-export activities at the land customs station will remain suspended from March 17 (Tuesday) to March 27 (Friday). Operations will resume as usual from March 28 (Saturday) after the Eid holidays.

However, immigration services will remain open during the suspension period. 

Passport holders will be able to travel through the land port as usual, according to immigration police sources.

Officer-in-Charge of Banglabandha Land Port Immigration Kefayetul Wares said that despite the halt in trade activities, cross-border passenger movement will continue without any disruption.
