DHAKA, March 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 929 cases against traffic law violators during operations conducted in different areas of the capital.
According to a DMP press release, the cases were filed in several traffic divisions across Dhaka.
The operations were conducted on Saturday in different parts of the capital by the Traffic Division of DMP as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain traffic discipline across the Dhaka metropolitan area.
In the Traffic-Ramna division, 71 cases were filed, including against 5 buses, 1 truck, 4 covered vans, 2 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 20 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Lalbagh division, 76 cases were filed, including 6 trucks, 5 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 46 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, 126 cases were filed in the Traffic-Motijheel division, including 11 buses, 1 truck, 7 covered vans, 32 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 59 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Wari division, 101 cases were filed, including 22 buses, 18 trucks, 10 covered vans, 16 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 18 motorcycles.
On the other hand, 55 cases were filed in the Traffic-Tejgaon division, including 11 buses, 6 trucks, 3 covered vans, 5 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 19 motorcycles. In the Traffic-Mirpur division, 72 cases were filed, including 4 buses, 2 trucks, 7 covered vans, 7 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 42 motorcycles.
A total of 171 cases were filed in the Traffic-Uttara division, including 22 buses, 10 trucks, 7 covered vans, 22 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 58 motorcycles, while the highest number, 257 cases, were filed in the Traffic-Gulshan division, including 29 buses, 9 trucks, 21 covered vans, 26 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 92 motorcycles.
Besides filing the cases, the traffic police also dumped 338 vehicles and wrecked 235 vehicles during the drive.
