Chief Whip of the Opposition in Parliament Md Nahid Islam-File Photo

FENI, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Chief Whip of the Opposition in Parliament Md Nahid Islam today called for bringing the killers of the 12 martyrs of Feni to justice and working towards implementing reforms.

"Feni had played a leading role in the July Uprising where 12 students and people lost their lives. We could not come to Feni during the July March Programme. Inshallah, we will launch an organisational tour after Eid. You continue your work and also prepare for the upcoming local government elections," he said.

Nahid Islam was virtually addressing an iftar mahfil organised by the National Citizen Party in Feni this evening marking its first founding anniversary at a restaurant on Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser Road in the town.

The programme was arranged to commemorate the martyrs of the July mass uprising and honour martyr families, injured fighters, political leaders and distinguished personalities.

Chaired by NCP District convener Zahidul Islam Soikat, it was also addressed by NCP central committee joint member secretary Saleh Uddin Sifat. District senior joint member secretary Muhaimin Tajim conducted the event.

District Jamaat Ameer Mufti Abdul Hannan, district BNP Member Secretary Alal Uddin Alal, NCP central member Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, BNP district joint convener Gazi Habibullah Manik, Feni Reporters Unity President Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Hefazat-e-Islam district secretary Maulana Omar Faruk, Islami Andolon district secretary Ekramul Haque Bhuiya, AB Party Feni district unit member secretary Fazlul Haque, District Bar Association President Farid Uddin Khan Nayan and Khilafat Majlis joint secretary Aziz Ullah Ahmadi, among others, addressed the programme.
