Seven illegal brick kilns fined Tk 7.5 lakh in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, March 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Environment (DoE) has 
imposed fines totaling Taka 7.5 lakh on seven illegal brick kilns in a recent 
mobile court drive conducted in Palash upazila of the district. 

The operation also resulted in the immediate closure of these brick kilns.

The drive conducted from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday in various areas of 
Danga union. Md Badrul Huda, deputy director of the DoE's Narsingdi District 
Office, confirmed the details of the operation.

Executive Magistrate Md Rezwan-Ul-Islam from the DoE headquarters led the 
mobile court drive, with assistance from the DoE's legal team. Assistant 
Director Prashanta Kumar Roy served as the prosecutor during the court 
proceedings.

Alongside DoE officials, Inspector Samar Krishna Das and other team members 
from the Narsingdi District Office were present during the drive. A patrol 
team from RAB-11 and local police provided crucial support throughout the 
operation.

Among the kilns fined were M/s MAS Brick Field, M/s Aziz Bokul Brick Field, 
M/s Combined Bricks, M/s Bondhu Bricks and M/s Ekota Brick Field, which 
collectively contributed to the Taka 7.5 lakh fine.

Speaking on the matter, Md Badrul Huda emphasized that such drives would 
continue in the district to prevent environmental damage and uphold the 
regulations set forth by the DoE. 

"These measures are essential for protecting the environment and ensuring 
compliance with the law," he added.
